Insitu is building technology to dramatically accelerate industrial development and empower economic developers. Economic development organizations (EDOs) representing cities, counties, and states are critical to pushing forward our industrial renaissance. Every day, EDOs engage local landowners, build community support, coordinate with utilities, negotiate incentives, and solve countless other problems behind-the-scenes to win projects, jobs, and revenue for their regions. Their efforts are critical in turning the >$1 trillion per year of industrial infrastructure demand into reality.
Despite their central role in this renaissance, EDOs remain underserved by modern technology. At Insitu, we're fixing this by building decision-oriented software and AI capabilities to transform EDO operations, including accelerating site development while reducing costs, driving proactive business recruitment, and enabling rapid and compelling responses to inbound RFIs. We build software, but our mission is to help EDOs win projects. We measure success not in the number of software licenses sold or in usage, but in the projects that our tools facilitate - everything from advanced manufacturing hubs and data centers, to fabrication facilities and multi-family housing.
Insitu’s founding team brings two decades of experience in economic development, energy and infrastructure investment, grid modeling, and enterprise software from Stanford University, Palantir Technologies, Goldman Sachs, and Two Sigma. Insitu is backed by leading venture capital firms including Andreessen Horowitz, and has previously won support from the Department of Energy and Stanford University.

We are seeking our first economic development professional to build new EDO partnerships and drive successful outcomes for all our EDO partners. You will own and grow customer relationships, directly inform product decisions, and unlock new markets that helps Insitu become the most advanced and trusted technology partner to economic development teams.
At Insitu, we believe no two EDOs are the same, and thus we are not building a single 'economic development software platform' to be provided to all EDOs. We instead partner with our EDO customers and build tailored solutions for their specific needs. In this role, you will leverage your economic development experience to deeply understand each EDO’s unique priorities, strengths and constraints, and work with our engineering team to extend Insitu’s platform to achieve each EDO’s goals.
This is not a standard sales role — your responsibilities do not end at contract signing. This is also not just an advisory role where you simply instruct engineering teams to build what you believe will be valuable to economic developers. Instead, you will treat the success of EDOs who have placed their trust in us as your own, and drive towards it by wielding and expanding our technology alongside our engineers.
You will also inform the continued growth of Insitu’s product and economic development data foundation, which combines 100+ data sources ranging from extensive geospatial data, to land parcel data, to global company and supply chain data, and enables us to efficiently build custom solutions for each EDO partner.
